Thanks in advance

Tailgate question

Post by Fritz »

The answer to your question is Yeah, But' No, But......

Simply remove the tailgate door card, decide how big the hole needs to be to fit your hand/fingers through to be able flick the latch.

BUT, you will not be able to lock/unlock the tailgate with the key from the inside of the vehicle.

Cheers Fritz,

I am a man on a mission now. Think I will cut two holes one in the doorcard to flick the latch and one in the tailgate to put my hand out to unlock it first.

There were some tailgate catches on the club stand at df, let u keep it open an 1" or so are they still avalible.

can't you stick a wire trace coming from the card into a loop to pull it, I'm sure I saw it somewhere.
You can still get the latch thingy, can't remember where though.
It might have been someone on here.

Surely (he says) you could rig up a one push button, small solenoid and some wire to pull the latch?

Have the button somewhere near the tailgate, and the rest in the tailgate.

Just an idea, as I had the same thing on a old Golf GTI.

Wasn't there a fred about this before ? IIRC ... upshot of it was you could attach a bit of wire to the latch inside the door and have a ring-pull inside the van.

Could be wrong .... have been before

Those fleabay links etc are for the door adjar for ventilation stays.
