American who makes racks... shipping and import duties versus dollar exchange rate ?

Nice racks though, and versatile. i believe Syncroandy has one of his.

Depending on how far over your Rear Wheel carrier is, you can squeeze a Paulchen Bike carrier on the otherside.

The main trouble being that it won't sit central, so not so great for a bike until I adapt the bike carrying rails to shift over. Very useful for carrying a multitude of other things though.

Witter Cycle Racks

Post by steffanstringer »

Hi,

I have a Witter cycle rack on the towhook of the doublecab, but this doesn't have a rear mounted spare.

However I notice that they seem to cater for this and this webpage helps you choose the right model of carrier......

I like the quality and the whole thing dissembles nicely. You might want to try them.

Gary Lee makes nice-looking stuff, but I'd assume it might be prohibitively costly to import. His rack is basically a copy of the Paulchen design, but with all sorts of variations. I have a Paulchen, like Jake.

They do come up from time to time, often via people bringing Weisties into the country to which they are often fitted. They are very nicely made, of high-tensile steel, galvanised and power-coated.

Looks like Gary adapts the ladder to accept standard Thule and Yakima standard bike carriers and carry the bikes vertically....hmm, might try that with the Paulchen.

Just gotta find somewhere for the Kite Buggy next

Plenty of options there, thanks.

Found a Witter supplier in Dublin and will check that first.

Thanks again.
