Agreed valuations

Post by onion »

Hi,

I'm just taking out new insurance for my T25 Westy Atlantic with Glynwood Insurance who seem to be pretty good so far. One thing I do need is an AGREED VALUATION for the insurance.

Does club 80-90 offer this or does anyone know of anyone who does this?

It apparently needs to be a club.

I used to have insurance with HIC but they got well expensive so I moved on. They did the agreed valuation themselves and did agree with me but that was in-house.

Anyone know where I can get one from?

Both myself or Simon at Brickwerks can do these for you or any valuation official of a recognised owners Club

I may need the same with my insurance, just sent the forms back with my own evaluation of what I think it`s worth, whats been done, pics etc. I know what it`s cost me, and would like it to be correctly valued for what it is, and what I know would have to be paid to replace it if the worst happened :(

Do you value on current market values, of a similar motor in similar condition, advertised currently at reputable dealers, for instance, as well as private. I have seen loads of similar vehicles to mine (not neccesarily in similar condition) at prices from around £5000 to over £10,000, at various places, from Ebay to the main names in camper sales, who advertise in the mags, we know who I mean.

I must say I looked at a few at the real top end of the market, for sale at more than what I paid for mine, which were not as good as the one I ended up buying. Does this then make mine to be worth similar to the expensive ones (and a small bargain as well) ?

Sorry if this sounds long-winded, just not sure what to expect from a valuation expert, I know what my `van stands me at, and I know what it would cost to buy a similar motor from a dealer (didn`t see anything as good on private sale on my travels I`m afraid, the dealers tend to snap up the good stuff and charge a premium) so would this be the "agreed value" ?
