Squeaky clutch pedal

When I dip the clutch there's an annoying squeak from the clutch pedal.

I've randomly sprayed up behind it with silicone spray a couple of times but it comes back after a few days. I think it needs new bushes or stripping and greasing properly.

This looks like a nightmare job. As far as I can tell the pedal shares a shaft with the brake pedal, and the whole lot is right up behind the dash.

Any advice? Anyone done this job?
