Hi im just in the process of fitting some seats from a rover 200 series car to the old van, ive taken off the original vw base rails from van and fitted the rover seat in for a trial fit, but the buggers a lot closer to the steering wheel that the old seat.
whats the usual soulution to this problem as i have seen vans in the past with different seats fitted.
Can you fit on a smaller steering wheel, if so what? maybe one from a golf?
Or is there a car seat that will fit without too much hassle?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks
New seat too close to steering wheel?

I've got the Rover 600 seats in mine, because there like armchairs.
Yes the wheel is a lot closer, but it is still more comfortable than the original VW ones.
Tried a smaller wheel from GTI Golf, but you need arms like Arnie to manoeuvre at low speeds, so put the original wheel back on.
Once you get used to the seats you'll probably find them very comfy.
I drove over 4,000 miles on my last trip to SOF and the Med and never had a problem with aches and pains, or a numb bum.
Enjoy.

If you never have a route planned ...how can you ever be lost?
