I have today finally managed to fit a new cooker in the van. (long story but the existing one had been knackered previously, and of course it was an integral with the sink! So basically I have had to cut out the old cooker part and fit in a new freestanding cooker) sounds strange, but it was a much cheaper option than replacing the whole thing right now.
I have got a gas bottle in a cupboard underneath with a regulator, question is is, it more advisable to disconnect the whole thing and put the stopper back on the gas bottle, or just turn the regulator off? My worry is that repeatedly disconnecting the pipe from the regulator (which I have to do otherwise I cannot screw on the regulator) will make the hose loose, but I am not sure I am that happy about just relying on the regulator being turned off.
Which is the safest option?
Gas bottle connection?

-If the rubber pipe is old-replace it-it should have the date marked on----I assume yoove got a Campingaz bottle with screw on regulator---rather than detatch the pipe to unscrew regulator--if you have the pipe a bit long--just twist the regulator round a bit to get the thread started on the bottle then rotate the bottle----should be ok with the regulator turned off----your gas bottle cupboard should have a vent hole at the lowest point so any escaping gas drains out the bottom of van-----if your regulator is old-replace as well as they leak eventually--
