The brakes have squealed since I had the camper.
After replacing the pads and copper-slipping everything that moved including the kids, things were quiet for a while now they have starting to squeal again after about 200 miles and boy do I mean squeal
I bought the pads from a local motor factors (old story cheapest price)
Do I change the pads again or am I overlooking anything else ???

Are you sure its the front thats doing the squealing?
One of my rear drums was REALLY squealing a little while ago, but it wasnt til i got a friend crawling around in the back while driving that i could positively identify where the noise was coming from, some people thought it sounded like it was coming from the front.
Managed to silence it by completely stripping it down, cleaned everything, filed off the 'edge' on the drum, roughed up the shoes, copper slipped all the necessary bits, reassembled, adjust, adjust, adjust, adjust. Both sides..(obviously)
Its worth mentioning that i had fiddled with this drum once before, but didnt make such a thorough job of it and it didnt stop the squealing.
So its really worth spending some time on IMHO.
Was silent after this, and stops like never before.
Hope this is some help.
It's definately the front.....taken them apart 2 times now and re=coppered them, stays quiet for around 200 miles then back it comes.....doing my head in

I will add this to my daily check list
Get up at 5 am
1. check lights
2. check tyres
3. check oil
4. check brake lights
5. check windscreen wash
6. strip down and re-grease front brakes Or I could get up at 7 am and buy ear defenders
or buy a new van

Back off the rear adjusters a couple or three clicks.. sounds like the rear shoes have been adjusted up too far.. did you/someone else do that?
but dont go to mad as lots of slack will cause a really long pedal..
I inadvertantly did this after fitting new discs etc.. adjusted the rears up nice and close.. but the fronts would squeal after a short while.. worked through what I had done and finally would the rears off a bit and it cured it.....
Mmmm rears were done by a garage ........I wonder.......Thank you. I will give it a try. come to think of it I have heard a little sqeek coming from the rear when travelling really slow but only a couple of times, just thought it might have been the handbrake cable not quite released
Where abouts in France are you.......I used to live in area 73, Savoie, was there for 11 years. and thinking of going back

what make of pads did you fit ? first
did you bed them in with gentle braking also clean the edge were the pads fit sound like a cheap hard pad post the make up
I can't remember the make.......But the same garage fitted front and rears for my MOT
They do sound like cheap pads, but my brakes are awesome
Yes brakes were bedded in for around 250 miles
