I use my laptop as I had it already. I
brought a cheap Digi TV USB set up for £30.00, and a 12V power adaptor for £15 to power the laptop when no mains is available.
The laptop already plays DVD movies, the USB TV gadget gets Freeview, and includes a remote control! I loaded Autoroute 2007, so have a form of Satnav as well, and if you get a good campsite some have wireless so you can surf as well.

I,m not knocking anyone here, but i thought the whole point of going camping is to get away from it all, including internet, sky TV etc etc!

If you want all your gadgets then surly you are better off just staying at home  :? .
Just find it a bit odd why you would want all this stuff when going camping.

I don't do it when i go camping - i play games, read books, listen to music and generally mess around with the family.

However, i spend quite a lot of time in the bus on my own - either working away or fishing at weekends - watching a dvd or my favourite series on TV is quite a nice thing to do wouldn't you agree ? At the moment i spend three nights a week in the van - its the telly or the pub.

Each to their own and all that.

Pimp your ride i say.....

I have a tv /dvd player for the kids as well,it just makes me chuckle when you go to camp sites and see sky dishes and peeps in their vans on the internet, when you can just stay at home and do that! .

Like i said i,m not knocking those that have them, but camping for me is getting away from everything and enjoying the big outdoors.
