Siezed heater fan

Post by SplendiferousII »

The windscreen wipers packed up on my Van in the rain on Friday driving home, So I pulled the dash to get at the motor - that turned out to be a knackered relay. But whilst I was in there I thought I'd un-seize my heater fan.

What a job that is. After releasing all the clips I tried to break the glue bonding it all together. I got about halfway around it but no hope with the back (The front actually beneath the windscreen) I ended up using Violence and just ripped it out with my hands and ended up breaking the housing up. Got in there though!

Anyway a drop of WD40 and the motor was good again.

Clipped it all back together and a few cable ties around the broken bits and Jobs a good un!

So beware if you tackle this job - Extreme violence is the key, that and cable ties.
