Radiator bleed screw question . . . .

Hi all,
On my radiator the bleed screw in the top left hand corner is just a common or garden bolt, is this what should be there?? , or should there be a proper gizmo for the job?, as it says in the manual to open it by a few turns when going thru the bleeding process [just refilled the cooling system] but this achieves nowt when there is just a bolt in there. obviously it can be taken out alltogether , but its not a very controlled way of doing it.

It suffices, unless you're power bleeding it, water doesn't gush out due to low head.

But short answer is
top up system, close everything, start engine, warm it up then crack open the bleeds as there will be pressure in the system to force the air out.. holding it at about 2000 rom also helps with the flow, close everything before cooling down..

Thanks for the replies, think its bled ok, gauge sits bang in themiddle and level has stopped the same in the tank, heater works fine too so i reckon all is well, just a v slight leak from the plaggy flange on righthand cyl head, prob due to re using an 'o' ring, easily sorted
