MOT

Post by dalmationman »

Hi
Can anybody in Staffordshire do or recommend where I vcan get a pre MOT and work done, and take the van to an MOT garage where I won't get ripped off ?
Don't mind paying at all.
Don't want to pay unfairly that's all.

Steve Shaw at Gasure does MOT's now.
Jane and Paul

More seemingly inept VW un/related questions/statements will follow in due course.

Thanks but Gasure is in Flintshire ?
Which is miles away from my part of Staffs.
Could be a problem if works need doing taking a few days etc.

Keep the ideas coming.
Much appreciated.

hold on, stoke is close to stafford, surely 5 towns that size has a garage or 3.

Yes, Stoke is probably well sorted for garages.
Thing is, if most of the local garages are anything to go by they are largely either hopeless at something as old as a van, or rub their hands together with glee and want to make a killing.
What I need is a reccomendation for somewhere that will do a decent job for a decent price.
Don't mind paying, don't want to get fleeced :?

Try to find a place that does MOT's only, they have no incentive to fail things to get the work.

Thanks for all the advice.

Good news is that Van passed the MOT today and I have found a very good garage in Alrewas, that's near Burton Upon Trent, for all you Staffordshire owners wanting a decent MOT place.
Proper MOT, small three man garage, sensible and helpfull advice from the owner concerning what may need doing in the near future etc.

There is one garage that does VW work round talke, I think its called 'talke motors' or something like that, its near the freeport off the A500 if memory serves me right, there is a ring round called pit lane and its on that.
