The bump may have dislodged some thing or blocked the flue up with debris

If it had a bump and then didn't work on either electric or gas then something has gone wrong with the refridgerant most likely.

Take the fridge out and have a look see. If there is no obvious damage, particularly check that the heating bits are still under the bit they should be heating and the pipework is not twisted or broken you may find the tried and tested trick of turning it upside down and leaving it a bit will work. If this fails then the refridgerant may have leaked out, a refridgeration engineer may be able to fix this or it may need a new one.

The vans a 1990 autosleeper trident. To be honest the fridge never got cold on 240 only on gas , after inspecting the inside of the fridge i can see a small crack in the plastic casing about 4 cm. Sounds like the fridge needs to come out. Is it difficult to take it out ? Does anyone know of repairer in Stafford area ?
