what fridge have you got? some of the larger 3way fridges have two vents because they need more airto circulate round the heat exchanger! smaller fridges tend to have their vents top ond bottom inside and then all they need on the outside is the exhaust! some put a link in the camper secition about a good place to get fridge spares so id have a look there for starters!

If you must vent your van then the local caravan shop will have a range of vents. I was at mine yesterday and they had umpteen styles in several colours.

The 3 way fridge should always be fitted with a top and bottom vent, in addition it is always advisable to seal the fridge off from the rest of the van interior. My fridge has the normal top Electrolux vent plus an added large vent, with a cowling directing the hot air out through the top vent, the bottom inlet vent is situated under the fridge. For obvious reasons both vents should be as large as possible. I also have 2 extractor fans fitted to the top vent to assist in cooling when down at the Med.

Er, no.

The vents visible on the side of the van are to dissipate heat. Top and bottom vents allow the warm air to rise out of the top drawing air in through the bottom. Without them your fridge may not cool down as well but if you only use it in the UK you probably would hardly ever notice given that you have some way for hot air to escape through the work top even if it only goes into the van.

You must have an exhaust. This allows the combustion gas to escape and prevent death of the van occupants from asphyxia.

You must have a hole in the bottom of your van at a low point. This allows unburnt gas to escape from the van also preventing asphyxia and minimising fire risk. This does not really need to be directly under the fridge if it's correctly bunded but it's simpler if it is.
