1991 VW Syncro 1.6 TD Camper

Post by Chippie »

I'm having to sell my VW Syncro 1.6 TD, moving abroad

· 1991
· RHD
· High top
· 2 berth
· 144000 miles, but new engine, turbo and gearbox replaced at 120000 miles
· 12 months MOT
· 6 months tax
· Slate blue
· Good bodywork
· 4-wheel drive not connected, but have prop shaft.
· Espacher diesel heater
· 3 way fridge
· Passenger swivel seat
· Double glazed plastic windows

I was wondering what sort of price I should be looking at?
Should I put it on ebay?

Gotta be a question mark over the 4 wheel drive system? why not connected, usually indicates an expensive problem up front (dont try the "fuel economy reason")? Diff locks working? noises from frot diff? 5 evenly worn tyres? VC condition/age? When you say "new" engine and gearbox they are always reconditioned, who did the work and what work was done? receipts? post some piccys of body work and camper interior for a better idea.

In my book if the propshaft has been dropped then there is trouble and you shouldnt pay syncro prices for what is a two wheel drive vehicle. Pay no more than £2500 if the rest of it is in good condition
