help needed to get insurance for european trip

Post by syncro4us »

HELP HELP stop me going insane with insurance companies!!!

we are taking our syncro on a round europe trip from about end March 2007 to end July 2007 and need to get insurance cover for the vehicle.
Our current insurnace company Carol Nash will only renew end April when we are away and its already taken 3 days to get any sense out of them and we dont want to be let down or be hanging on the phone in the middle of Greece for another 3 days trying to organise it.
So can any one let me know /suggest a reasonably priced insurance company that will give comprehensive cover and also give breakdown cover for the trip. We have a 1986 syncro with westfalia lh drive 2.1litre petrol engine running on LPG

Please Help

thanks

Kevin

Try Adrian Flux, they do a cheapo 30 day EU breakdown cover (£38?) just say you want to extend it.

Personally I'd be swapping my insurance before I went .... oh and ditching the p%pants insurance you've already got and demand a refund on the remaining time. Just think .... If it takes 3 days to get sense out of them on a renewal query imagine what it'd be like to claim !!

Cheers,Ian.

BTW all the good insurance companies are listed on the Wiki (hammer symbol at the top of the page)

European breakdown insurance

Post by brookie »

Don't know if ur sorted but I just got a good deal (Ithink!) If you insure with HIC which is the insurance arm of Just Kampers they of fer UK AND European breakdown cover for £42 for the whole year. I was paying £190 to the RAC! The only thing is that u have to take it out when you take the normal insurance out - but it still might be worth it.

Just booked mine with the RAC. You don't need to be a member.

HIC is now owned by Adrian Flux

Their £38 b/down cover is UK 12 months and EU 30 days (IIRC)
