I have a flat spot on throttle when i put my foot down
everything else seems ok
would putting more tension on cable help or is it more serious.
ps it's a weber 32/36 carb
cheers SiD
Ah.. thought it might be...
the 009 is not suited to the 2L... the wrong advance curve, better off putting the old one back on.., ther should be a blanked off port on the carb (but possible not) for the vac advance to fit onto.. this is a big problem with this carb conversion..
If you have to keep the 009 then time it up for about 32-34 deg BTDC abouve 3000 rpm, this will give about 11-17 deg BTDC at idle.. (depending on how good the advance curve actually is) less than ideal....
you will then find it harder to start... but better than overheating the engine...
Make sure the thing actually advances with RPM too.. they can stick..
then apply the throttle more slowly at lower rpm...
