Broken Mirror Glass

Hi I've not long bought a new van with electric mirrors but 1 of the mirror glasses is broken.
Does anyone know where I can get 1 from & does the old 1 pull off & the new 1 stick in its place? Is it a VAG only part or does the standard mirror glass fit in its place?

Halfords do a stick on replacment, bit tricky to fit as the stick the second they make contact :?

Had a broken mirror glass on my motorbike and was advised to just get a piece of mirror glass cut to size at a glaziers/picture framers. I appreciate it is not convex like proper wing mirror glass but it was a lot cheaper and didn't seem to matter at the MOT.

only available from vw and about £46ish. Some people do stick a suitably sized glass over top but not as good as the vw one is heated. You get it off by pushing a lever located behind the mirror with a screw driver blade thru the gap between mirror and casing. hth
