well it ain't fixable by me thats for sure, V it , re-weld and grind flat????? way beyond me to say, suppose it depends on whether its ferked elsewhere,if you got the skills/facilities to do it yourself, or if you've got £400 ish for a recon head.

it`ll only go again! sack it. find another engine for less than the cost of a recon head, and you a block, pistons, crank and rods to boot!!!

Scarp it.
If you can afford it buy a new one complete with crank etc. Dont buy a re-con. I had an expensive experience where my Vee Gee re-manufactured engine had its head split after 12,000 miles (and it was just outside the 2 year warranty - gutted).

take it to an engineering shop have it skimmed you mite save it for 40-50 quid????
if its not broke dont fix it, or i will ;-)

Bin it , get a TDI lump
there not as prone to head cracks as the old IDI lumps
