one side of my power steering rack has developed a leak
told by vw that they do the seals £65.00 plus vat plus £17.00 plus vat a side for the dust covers
is it a diy job to change the seals or are any special tools required?
has anyone done this job before know of any pit falls?
any help welcomed

My Dad had this problem on his volvo, he used some slick 50 type stuff for power steering and it stopped the leak, he reckons the o seals dry out and the slick stuff softens them up, and the leak stops, it worked for at least 5 years till he got a new car. I suppose its w orth trying for a few quid. Just make sure the slick is compatible with the T25.
