Vibrations from front
I have been running my van in 2wd for some time but today put the front diff driveshafts and prop back in and all seems fine except that i have a vibration about about 45mph. Did not have it when the prop only was removed or when i removed the diff etc. I have new inner and outer cv`s fitted and did not remove the wheels so no issue there. Would the prop cause the vibration but it looks fairly new and still has it`s balancing bits welded on. I also noticed a slight pull to the left that was not there before. Will have another look tomorrow underneath, but anyone any ideas?
Did you use new rubber mounts, have always suspected their compliance to be critical...
You've got it dead straight up the van I suspect...
so, has this diff been apart and been looked at. the erar double row needle and the Vc itself are also high on my list of suspects... if the VC has blown, and has less Siloxane than a 92% fill, then.... just thinking between the lines
VC a heavy item, any lack of support or perfectitude of axiality
Am assuming you're saying that with the front diff and not prop, the thing vibrates, in the way we all know and love about syncro prop vibes, a fundamental about 38 - 45 mph dependent upon diff ratio...
Useful info there though, so many think syncro prop vibes are all about prop Ujs and prop balance - far from it - IMHO

Hi clive, with the prop only removed I had no issues then removed the rest and eventually fitted the new cv`s then put everything back together. Not driven this van in 4wd as i removed the prop in sweden not knowing the history. Will remove the prop tomorrow to see if that makes a difference. The front diff not been in bits as could not find a new vc, but vc passes the test when cold and not got hot yet to test again.
