Vac pipes

Post by cumbriankeith »

This should do you I hope - it's not actually mine but the pipes are the same - pipe from cone side of diz vac unit goes to left carb, other pipe goes to the balance pipe/idling circuit at the back next to the bulkhead.

There is one on the Wiki but the pipes miss out the module on the aircleaner.

Vac pipes on CU engine

Post by cumbriankeith »

Now I've got round to putting up a pic of my own engine you can see how the pipe that goes to the retard take off at the back of the engine "Ts" off to the little (heat sensor) module on the airbox, the other side of which goes on to the flap mech on the air intake - I'm fairly certain that this just ensures warm air is taken in on cold days and cold air on warm days - probably not too critical in our benign climate. Anyway alot of our engines don't have the little insulated duct on the bulkhead tin that takes air from near the heatexs and sends it up to the air intake - mine didn't until I fixed it - it was a heap of rust.
