She starts fine when she's cold, i.e. first thing in the morning, or after standing still for about 5-10mins. But When I try and start her after about 10-20 mins of use, the starter motor doesn't turn over at all. I get a click from the back, which I guess means the ignition is working (the switch is new any hows) but there is nothing from the starter motor.
I've gone underneath and touched the two starter motor terminals together and it starts every time, even when it won't start from the ignition.
cheers guys, I've all ready got a seperate earth to the starter motor. It's fairly new so when the guy put it in he cleaned all the terminals. But I just gave all the main bolts a clean, but it is still doing the same thing....
check the output on the power supply and also check your signal to the starter when you turn the key make sure you have all the supplies to the starter
You say that when you short the terminals out on the starter it turns over everytime this would suggest that the starter is ok. You should check all the conections on the starter are clean ( no green deposits ) and a good fit. Re check the earths, just because they are new it doesnt mean that they are conected well. You also mention that the ignition switch is new. Could they be a loose conection there. Check that there is 12v to the trigger wire going to the starter when the key is in the crank position.
