Knocking since being on blocks

Post by zeebod »

i would appreciate any advice on this one.

Had my wedge on blocks for a week or so - restoring alloys.
did the job and all seemed fine.
then on first run i was aware of a knocking noise from what seems to be beneath the gear stick. It speeds up as i accelerate and decreases as i slow down. At first i though something was dragging underneath and bouncing up - but on close inspection i cannot see anything out of place and no small furry animals caught in the wheel arch.
The noise does seem to go away when I corner.
it sounds like it could be something rubbing - but what.........?!!!

it is driving me bonkers - what the hell could it be........??

best of the season to all

Could it be as simple as a kink in the speedo cable, maybe around where the block was??

This might not help but I changed my steels for alloys and when it was done I drove down the road and a knocking noise started which turned out to be a rear spring which was,nt seated correctly so I jacked it up and lowered it while guiding the spring and now all's fine!
Just a thought!.............
