i take your point, there are two immo's listed for the T4 untill 2003 the first is a fixed transponder, the second a rolling code transponder (key chip).
what i hoping is that the ecu all be it 80 or 121 pin type (edc15) will recognise this immobiliser and keep the engine going. i.e. the remote immo useses the same protocol as the immo built into the clocks. i have researched this idea from searching the archives of the yahoo group on tdi into vanagon conversion (woth a look and a link if your planning on doing a conersion). it would appear that the idea was sucsessfull as one of the members is marketing it as an immobiliser defeat box! i don't think however that it is a solution to the later 'pd' engines, which are driven by the edc 16 ecu with a much more sophisticated immo
