Oil Pump Removal

Post by Dangerbus »

Hi all,

I am in the process of stripping a 1984 1.9 WBX (DG) and I have got to the point where I need to remove the oil pump from the case. The haynes manual talks about using a puller threaded into the back of the pump body (after the gears are removed) but I can't seem to see any thread!

Can anyone advise on how to get the pump out?

Can I simply lever it out? I don't want to damage the case if there's an easy way to remove the pump!

Cheers

DB

Theres no thread in pump body to remove it, the special tool has the threaded bit. If splitting the case it should come out as soon as case halves are very slightly seperated, failing this remove the studs and it will fall out when case is seperated. Do not lever it out, case is like butter.
