Webasto heater main fuse?

Post by toomanytoys »

ANyone know where a factory fitted Wbasto heater (heats the coolant) main fuse is???
Mine has no power when ignition off.. (was werking fine last week) and the time flashes when ignition on.. if you set the time and switch ign off the time is lost again..

Bloomin cold here now and could really do with the defrost function in the mornings!!

Si , The Ebber pre-heater ( yes i know totally different heater) that i ripped out of a transit, the fuse was next to the battery. About 8in's along the main heater feed wire.

Nope not there...
I thought it might be in the box in the engine bay.. found 2 in there, but both ok... have to go round wit the volt meter to see where there is/isnt power I reckon.. trace the wiring back.. maybe the thing has died

if it has and cant be fixed sensibly then shall look at fitting a eber and just have the hot air output..

Si it sounds relay type problem rather that fuse ? Does the heater fire up with the engine running ?

Nope..
the control panel comes live when ignition on and you can here a relay trip if the "heating request" button is pressed, but it doesnt run..

Have to figure out what the wiring does..
there is a large cable off the back of the fuse box, that goes into the loom for the Webasto, this is directly from the main power to the fuse box, so I assume there is another fuse on that line between the fuse box and Webasto in the engine compartment..
