Brake pedal pulsating

Hi peeps just put some merc slk alloys on me van with longer studs on the back and now me brake pedal is pulsating when i brake the only thing i did'nt put back woz the 11mm bolts that hold the brake drum on never done it with the standard rims all the studs went in straight also used conversion studs on the front any ideas anybody COS ITS DOI'N ME FRELLIN 'EAD IN

thats normally means warped drums

Yeh thats wot i thought but it was alright before i put the wheels on i then put in the garage and when i came back to it the handbrake would'nt release the rear shoes and i had to floor it to get them to release took the drums back off to check could'nt see anything wrong??

Make sure the wheels are seating properly. From what you're saying you haven't removed the bolts that unnecessarily secure the drums on the hubs (they're already clamped there by five hunking gurt nuts for heavens sake). These are 11mm heads. It sounds like you've given your rear hubs one hell of a work out!!

only an idea but are the new studs pulled in tight and heads not rubbing on anything

On the studs, the shank which has the splined effect (to create an interference fit) actually protrudes through the drum also. Check that you have the drum seated properly onto the hub and the new studs aren't holding the drum off in anyway.

This usually isn't a problem as the bolt (which you have removed) holds the drum hard up against the hub when the wheel is off, but when you put your wheel on and tighten up, anything could be moving around in there!
