bloody van wont start now!

Post by Hacksawbob »

starter motor in and turning over nicely, engine will not idle though! can hear it fire breifly then dies as soon as the starter motor stops. It wont run on petrol at all, got it working on lpg on saturday but was running poorly, ie no power felt as though I was driving in the wrong gear. I suspect electrical as though I have disconected something whilst getting the starter motor installed but I have gone through the connections and cant see anything, although there is a green and yellow wire with a yellow plastic plug on it that isn't connect to anything.

Bob, mine does the same when I have water contamination in the fuel, starts fine on LPG but will not start on petrol. Detatched the pump outlet pipe and directed into a container, started the engine on LPG, and roberts your fathers brother, out came half a litre of water! I then replaced the fuel filter and it started on petrol.
That concludes the evidence from Wolverhampton.

connectors all seem to be in place. I took off the dizzy cap and gave it a clean put it all back and wont run on LPG now either. I'll replace cap and rotor tommorrow, I just have that, more I touch it the more I f*** it up feeling.
