solidsided roof replacement

Post by katie »

Hi all, was hoping someone could help me fix, or find parts for my solid sided 1983 Ci autohomes camper. I really like this type of roof and would like to fix and use it, as at the mo it leaks wind and water! The chipboard top is soaked in parts and the screws are comming out the sides have splits in them where the screws go in and i'm really feeling the cold in it when we go out. Hope someone can help.

Hi Katie, welcome to the `van world :)

Have a look at the thread on the Campers section, on "hi-top" by Jilly, same thing being discussed here with some good info on who does `em :)
Keep it real.

hi there and welcome to the club
i had one of those bloody rooves and what a pain in the bum i agree they are great when not leaking but they do and they are so annoying i changed mine for a devon roof so much easier and alot less hassle but you never know someone on here may have had one and repaired it

Hi Katie, I too have a hard sided pop-top, just not so hard on top where all the wood has rotten. After trying to find an exact replacement unsuccessfully, I have opted for a devon replacement. I'm taking my roof off in bits, so if you are interested in some to help repair your roof, give me a shout.

Regards
