Question from SA

Post by HarryMann »

Hi There,

This is Stuart from SA, I have a RHD 16" syncro Caravelle C here in SA.
It's a Genuine german built RHD 16" bus.
How many RHD 16" buses were made and what are they worth in the UK?

Hi, as there are none presently in the UK, I guess the only way to find out is to offer it !

The only other one known to exist was recently being offered by Mike Plompen (busman.be).

Australian 16" syncros

Post by garyd »

I have details of two 16" syncros which went to Australia in the early 1990s especially to take part in the Wynns Round Australia Trial. One was a DOKA and the other a bus although this was converted to a Trakka camper with a hi-top added. Both were 2.1s.

They both finished the event when many entrants didn't. They both came first in their classes (pickups and passengers cars under 2.5 litres).

A report on the later life of the DOKA was published in issue one of VW Camper & Commercial in the winter of 2000.

I have a scan of an advert poster if someone can tell me how to post that on here, please.
