Pulling to nearside?

Post by brianjbox »

Hi

My vans started pulling to nearside? well if you let go of the steering wheel the bus starts turning to the left?
What's a little more worrying is it takes a lot more effort to steer to the right now compared with the left

I have only noticed this problem today after going to the garage Sunday to inflate the tyres on their new pay as you fill air line  , could this be as simple as my tyres now being inflated incorrectly or should I check for other problems.

Thanks for your help [much appreciated as I've not encountered this before]

Brian.

hi - when mine does this its off to the local garage that offers a free tracking test...... :D (after you have checked the tyre pressures on another air line...)

Emma

edited to add....nice to hear from you again, Brian! F1 at Toys r us will do the check for free, and will also show you where the tracking is out if you ask!

Thanks Emma [have seen you and bus around and waved but you missed us].

I don't know if the tracking is the problem? I've owned this bus for more than two years and it's not been messed with.
I have no uneven tyre wear which usually indicates a tracking problem, could the tracking suddenly come out of alignment?
Mind you if it's a free test might as well get it checked out :D

Cheers
Brian.

its not just tracking - you need to get the camber checked out.

Found the problem, 40 psi in one and 20 in the other  . Can't blame the pump though as I also found a dirty great screw in my new tyre :(

Back up to kwik fits then.

Cheers guys.
