Handbrake Aggravation,,,,,,,,,

Post by Fritz »

Ok then I have been meaning to ask this question for some time, and some of you may be able to help.

I have always lusted after seat swivel bases for both front seats of any vehicle I have happened to own,,,,,,and Now we have them I have a problem almost every time I want to use them,,,, :(

You see ,once we have made our mind up where to park up (leveling ramps in place) I like to give the hand brake a good old tug, just for old time sake.
But then I always find I am unable to rotate the drivers seat coz the bloody hand brake is in the way,, :o

Passenger seat is not a problem at all,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Do you have the same hassle or is it just me ,,

Regards

Fritz,,,,,,,,,,,,
One day you will find me,,

Maybe you have to many "clicks" on the handbrake :) Mine sems to be OK, 2 clicks and it`s on tight. I could probably get another click if I really pulled it but it doesn`t need it. Try adjustment, and leave it in gear as well :)

Or is your handbrake lever bent? :?
Keep it real.

I had the same problem you need to get under the van and adjust the hand brake up at the point where the single cable splits into two (10 mm nut) but be gentle or you will have my other problem which is the end broken off the hand brake cable. When this happens you have to get a new one and fit it which involves lowering the fuel tank about 20 cm a pain in the backside OR you can just weld a bit of thred on to the bit that is left the choice is yours best of luck Simon C.
