coolant changed colour

yes its an odd one but my coolant has changed from nice blue to mucky purple, is it exhaust gasses getting into the system? or something else.

has anyone else topped it up? G12+ is pink and mixed with G11 makes mauve coluor

no have been using halwits basic. there also seems to be a greasy deposit in the top up tank!

--basic antifreeze is ok if its changed every 2 yrs--G12+ is 5 yr antifreeze-& I doubt its much different to any other pink 5 yr stuff---it is almost immpossible to drain the system completely so you need to flush it as well with a hose pipe--other wise several litres of your old antifreeze could be left in--
