GTi temperature gauge problem

Post by Sir Chad »

Hello, I've got my 8v GTi engine fitted and running but I'm not having any joy with the temperature gauge, has anyone manged to get the T25 gauge to function with a GTi sender? if so which sender did you use (there are 3). I'm a bit reluctant to drive it until I can monitor the temperature.

Mine has a carb inline 4 in it and I had the same problem - in the end I used the sensor from the Wasser engine which looks nothing like the original but fitted straight in (not sure if the GTI is the same but on the one I have there is a sensor in a plastic moulding on one of the inline engine's water fittings held in by the same sort of clip as on the wasser - I swapped the Wasser one for this).
Why does the not quite finished job before last always conspire with the not quite started job after next to make what you should be doing now harder?
