Rear 3 point belts in a '90 Caravelle?

Morning,

First post here... I'm usually to be found on VZi.

I've just bought a T25 Caravelle and it's only got lap belts in the back. Is it possible to fit 3 point belts fairly easily?

I only want to fit them to the very back row of 3 seats, not the middle row of 3.

Ah! I've checked the techinical Wiki things and that says there should be mounts already there...

Welcome to the T25 Caravelle club (mine's a 1988 GL 2.1 litre model running on LPG) - I fitted rear 3 point seat belts a few months ago - easy job once you have the right seat belts. I got mine from www.justkampers.co.uk - However, if you look at US models you will see they had extra belt guides that ran from the rear towards the back of the rear seat. (look at www.thesamba.com) I didn't use these but they do make the belts run easier I think.

The belts from JK come with extra fittings to bolt the belt return fitting to the internal side stiffener panels. The belts also come with easy to use instructions. Of course you can't easliy fit a 3 point belt in the middle seat on a 3 person rear seat (unless anyone wants to correct me!)

I did look at the belts on the JK website, but it wasn't that clear whether they'd be suitable. It's good to know that they are.

I only want to fit them to the 2 outside rear seats. The centre lap belt will be OK as it is.

I bought the car off ebay - I haven't actually picked it up yet! It's a '90 Caravelle GL - 2.1 auto

I'm really looking forward to gettting back into rear engine VW goodness again
