VW Newbie from up in Geordieland

Post by Nicola&Tony »

Hi, we've just bought our first campervan last month. After much research we decided a T25 hi-top was the van for us!! Our new family member is called Rupert (a name that we inherited from the previous owners), and we bought him on ebay! Everyone thought we were crazy to buy a van that we hadn't seen but as of yet we haven't regretted it. What was intended to be a hobby is fastly becoming a full on addiction. It could escalate out of control, if only the finances could keep up with the spending. Just wondering if there are any other members from the North East of England out there? And if so, are there any meets in the area?

Looking for: window apertures for side windows, at the back of the van

T25; 1985; RHD; 1.9DG petrol / LPG; white Autosleeper high-top; Looking rusty again!

LT31; 1993; RHD; 2.4L petrol; high-top; diy camper project.

I think I've spent nearly £3000 grand in petrol since I bought mine in August! And I'm going back to Germany next week to pick up another for a friend. Can't wait. :D

I have a major leak-the engine and the autobox in combination with the need for speed. Well, 30mph at least!!!

Hello and welcome.

I'm from Newcastle, but I work down in N Yorks, you might of seen my 1980 Westy around, except I've laid her up for the winter, as I'm off to Afghanistan for 3 months! :(

When I get back, she's gonna have a bit of work, and then be for sale, to help fund my Scooby power syncro.... (that I haven't even sourced yet.. .)

I'm sure there's another lad (Clash460?) who's from Durham I think.

Have fun with the van!!

Hello!!!!!! There's a few up here. I work in Newcastle/live in Stanley, bought my first bus over summer, both it and I have been off the road mostly since though. There's a local club: http://www.angelvw.co.uk/ which is mainly for Aircooled VWs, though there are some T25 owners there, they have regular meets (not that I've 'met' with any of them myself - maybe next year!)
