It would a lot better if that barsteward did not ring me up and leave a giggling message on my voicemail telling me he has something to tell me but not to worry.

Hope you are reading this Spanner Monkey!!!

Spanner Monkey/Desk Jockey

Post by blurb55 »

Merely playful banter between Mr Baxter and I. He has referred to me as a Desk Jockey, ergo he would be a Spanner Monkey. We kinda got here by determining it would be a better world if certain people would do what they are best at rather than professing to be experts in areas where they clearly are not. This may help clear up any misunderstanding I sense may be about to happen.

I have an amusing collection of SB voicemails that begin with him chuckling and saying "its nothing to worry about, but I took your van out/looked at/tested/measured*" then proceeding tell me of something that will relieve me of the equivalent sum to the debt of a small third world country.

If he was not such a good mechanic and thoroughly good bloke, I could take offence. :D :D :D :D :D :D

tis done

Post by blurb55 »

The call came from the depths of West Yorkshire to say "yer van's ready" so I asked "you mean its finished?", pause, "it's ready for you to fetch".

Weasle words, and I though we in PR twisted the language.

So, with a bank account sooooooo much lighter I will be off to pick up the Scoobyvelle shortly. Simon offered to write me a list of things he has done on a couple of sheets of A4, but aparently his computer font only goes down as far as 6pt. Any larger and he will need a license to use that volume of timber

Will be back to enlightenen those of the £x£ community (Cheers, to the originator of that one - you know who you are, it will keep me smiling for ages) of exactly what was done to get it roadworthy.

Big thanks to Simon, though. Very thorough.
