My leisure battery is under the passenger seat??? Usually the main battery has much beefier wires connected to it and if you disconnect this battery your van wont start.
Fair enough. It should be easy enough to ID though.
Coincidently my leisure battery has given up the ghost. I have bought a power pack thingie with a 300watt inverter from QVC and hope to use that instead of a L.B. got it cheap from the QVC shop in Birchwood. There was one more left.
The inverter is part of the power pack. It is the type you jump start motors with and it has a light and air compressor plus a 12volt power supply outlet which is where I hope to connect the leisure appliances to.
I can only try.
Standard Westy (diesel) batteries, one in the engine bay for starting engine, one under the drivers seat (LHD) is leisure battery, second battery box under the passenger front seat for an extra leisure battery, wired through to the other one.
See Wiki for sizes and what type fit. Height is the MAIN consideration, as the battery box lids need to close so the seats can swivel, and the battery terminals MUST clear the metal box lids
and to confuse things even more, the leisure battery in my lhd karmann is under the passenger seat as there ain't no room under the drivers seat because the power steering/abs? stuff is under there.
Oh and my battery covers are moulded plastic.
