When I changed mine I did it with a 4 pin relay as that's all that Halfwits had. Having now read how a 5 pin relay works, will it make any difference? Having said that, from memory of taking them off, there were only 4 spade connectors anyway.

Yeah, but was there a wire connected to the middle pin? If it is then what colour is it so I can check it out on mine. Thanks. Middle pin should say 87a I believe. :D

Cheers mate. But United are at home today, and that's where I'm off :D
Looking at a piece on the internet, linked to this forum somewhere, it says the middle pin stays live until you switch on the ignition, and then it turns that one off, and pin 87 on. Mine seems to be ok so far, but then again I only put it on yesterday!

Thanks Irish Dave, your article on Wiki is what I was quoting to Maximus, nice to have people who know what to write that makes sense to the layman (well almost :) )

That other website, Kampenwagen, has some really easy to understand stuff on it, explains why you have the 5th pin as well I think.

Spent the morning looking for a 5 pin, got one coming on monday from Partco. I will stick the relay in and if nothing has changed it may be the fridge to try next :? I had a look on Manchester Aircooled website and they do electrics so might go there, well there doing my engine rebuild when I can afford it
