eberspacher AND L.P.G, is it safe???

Post by wasserleaker »

Anyone have an Eberspacher petrol booster heater in use in a t25 which is also running on LPG?
My LHD Carat has got a factory fitted eberspacher heater, and had the LPG fitted some years ago. it looks as though the heater has been disabled somehow tho, although the clock-work timer still works and the blower blows out cold air, i'm wondering if it was disabled for safety reasons when the LPG was fitted, the exhaust is quite close to the gas fill up pipework  does anyone use one of these heaters on their bus and run on gas as well? wonder if it doesn't work because the fuel pump is switched off when running on gas, or does the heater have its own separate pump? i'd love to be able to use it, specially on kite buggying trips to the coast in winter, but have doubts about it's safety, s'pose it would need checking over by someone who knows about em anyway as it hasn't been used, possibly for years. i could always turn the camping stove grill on for a bit if it gets too chilly! any advice would be great

Jed has an Eberspacher & has just has his van converted to LPG.

Not sure where the heater is in respect to the LPG tank, but I'm sure he will be along later - or PM him.
