NON VW - Where's the temp sender on a Fiesta?

Maybe someone has some experience of american muck :wink:

The temperature gauge on my 97 Ford Fiesta isn't working. Can anyone tell me where the sender unit lives? Obviously I have no haynes manual

I would hazard a guess at either on the thermostat housing, or maybe on the cylinder head somewhere :?
