TYRE PRESSURES

Post by Bowton Lad »

For T25 fitted with 185R14C tyres Herr Volkswagen recommends:-

Front: 3.0 Rear: 3.7 Spare: 3.7 BARS. AIR COOLED

Front: 2.5 Rear: 3.3 Spare: 3.3 BARS WATER COOLED :ok

Edited by Bowton Lad to differentiate between air cooled & water cooled tyre pressures.

Hey Lad,

are you sure thats the the right way round? I asked this question the other day and you kindly answered it for me too. On snooping around my van later that day I found a sticker on the inner wheel arch telling me the exact same info! Mines a water-cooled and it says front 3.0 rear 3.7.

My caravelle 8 seat tkes 43psi front and 55psi rear... no "standard" accross the range pressures...

if I had a camper, I would run the same pressures on 185C tyres

have a look in the door jam .. there is normally a sticker with them listed for your vehicle...

TYRE PRESSURES

Post by Bowton Lad »

When I bought my air cooled camper in March this year I didn't know the correct tyre pressures so I enquired on the forum. I was given the figures:- Front: 3.3 Rear: 3.7 Spare: 3.7 BARS for 185R14C tyres.

When Betsythebug asked for T25 tyre pressures I checked on my computer & gave those tyre pressures in Bars. I had a pm asking what those pressures were in psi & while I was thinking about that I realised that Btb had not stated whether the vehicle in question was air or water cooled. I checked the VW T25 Manual & found that the pressures for water cooled T25s are lower ie: Front: 2.5 Rear: 3.0 Spare: 3.0

Gone-Westy, the w/c tyre pressures are from the VW T25 Instruction Manual dated 7/83. If you own a later camper the tyre pressures may have changed.

toomanytoys, the Instruction Manual is for VW Transporter/Caravelle & the tyre pressures in PSI are:- Front:35 Rear: 47 Spare: 47. Just nipped out to my 1984 w/c camper to check the sticker on the n/s door jamb & the above figures in Bars are exactly ths same but the PSI figures are one psi higher.

Hi Lad,

mines an '88 so that could be why the figures are different. Anyway the figures you gave me last week matched the sticker on my door jam. We got there in the end!

Whats yours Betsy and are you sorted now? :?:
