Orange flashing light?!?!?!?!?

Post by MurphyX »

Hello
Can anyone tell me what the orange warning light is (above the hazards switch, on the right of the dash). It flashes on breifly, occassionally when I go round roundabouts.

Its not mentioned in the handbook ... stupid handbook?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Above the hazard light switch on mine is the foglight switch. This has a orange warning light init.

My foglight switch warning lamp was intermittant, untill I took out the lamp and adjusted the contacts.

Its the other way round on mine: Foglights switch at the bottom; Hazards switch in the middle; and the mysterious orange round about light on the top.

I'm assuming that the reason it comes on whilst going round round abouts is that it is indicating a low fluid level (cos the fluid drops below the sensor when taking a sharp bend).

So, its not coolant. Could it be brake or clutch fluid?

no VW installed orange lights, do you have a tow bar? might be indicator relay light to show that indicators on your trailer are working, and got water in the tow electrics somewhere.

Ahaaaaa!!! Yes I have a tow bar (although it doesn't really serve any purpose except to smack me on the head when I crawl out from underneath). I think you must be right about the trailer indicator thing; I experimented going round roundabout without indicating and the orange light didn't come on.

Ta very much!
