helllp alternator bolt for diesel watercooled or advice plez

yo dudes,for some reason,ever since ive fitted a 1.9 diesel 1y engine in marladys camper the fan belt seems to work itself loose after a week or two and scream its knackers off,i think it might be the cobbled up bolt which i used to mount the alternator to the bracket(the big long on what the alternator swings on!)the alternator belt only really touches a quarter of the pulley so am i missing an idler wheel or something to get the belt to touch more of the pulley..........confused??????????so am i

Sorry, can't figuer this myself without a piccy to compare to mine, others migth or could take piccy of mine so you can see
