oh my exhaust wo'es

Post by T'Onion »

Ok my 2 year old new GSF exhaust gave up the ghost at the weekend .. my it was loud, so today found me taking it off and fitting the second-hand one that i had (cheers Ray) .
So i manage to get the old one off, without to much knuckle wasteage  , why did VW only fit 3 studs ? why not 4 so making for easy un'bolting :?

ok so back to the old knackered one , on the face of it it looks new , until you look inside , its completly frelled .. on one of the outlet ports its half missing inside therefore allowing free flow to the tail pipe

i may just cut it up tomorrow and take some piccies

Why has it failed so quickly mate?
is it the quality or the extra water from the lpg

see i was thinking it was the lpg that had knackered the baffles ,but on closer inspection its not the baffles , the rest of the exhaust is in good fettle. oh and its a ernst (sp) exhaust so not that cheap.
think i will cut it up and look at it

Just be thankful mark. Monday morning i take my new full JK system to the local exhaust place thinking 'half hour job for them' so not worth messing with outside in the road. Horror story begins...the previous frellin bodger of an owner had only welded the headers back on cuz he'd knacked the studs. Welded to the heads!! Poor old girls heads are now off being sorted at the local machine shop. More money. Life's never simple is it? :x

Exhaust

Post by blurb55 »

Hey up Mark, well if it all get too much you can always go and lie down on a new Futon!!
Think you should go down and give them some grief about your exhaust.
Cheers, Paul.

PS: how did you get it upstairs (if you haven't and want a hand, give me a call.

PPS: mentioned Tim who swapped the seats, parked at the station and who should wander up having spotted the Scoobyvelle towering over everything else int he carpark - none other than Tim - small T25 world eh?

Good exercise, up and down those stairs!!

All a bunch of robbin basars on here - you've seen me new van and I got that through here!! Ta for the offer though, thought I would just stand it in the garden and watch the rusty bits fall off. Kinda dynamic sculpture.

Email then the pics, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, until they respond.

Yep let's pick a date and see who shows up one eveningtime at a pub with a big car park, how about the one at Owler Bar where they do the helicopter flights from. (we could use it to find those who have broken down en route :D )
