How hard is it to get insurance?

Post by PC52 »

I have spent the best part of a day trying to insure the swedish Doka, 2.1 syncro.Nobody has a clue. They query the engine size (2.1) they say it's a mod. They say oooh can't do that. When I mention insure it on the chassis number they say What's that? Surely somebody has a good link to insurance and not Adrian Flux as he was OTT. Both of us clean licences, no claims etc blah blah. Help, this beast is nearing completion and needs to be driven.

this is a well timed topic for me. I'm currently with CIS - found them no bother at all £220 for the year fully comp but not agreed value... which they're wrangling over at the moment in light of some major changes going on with my van(s).

question: anybody tried this Glynwoods crowd for agreed value insurance?

cheers,

Andrew

Mine is just a standard tin top DG, but I found the Glynwood folks very easy to deal with ( personal "first name" service ) and a good price.

Mention the 80-90 club if ringing, they like you to be a club member.

Looks like Bobs the man, although I may have to wait till Thursday to ring him as Today returned from France on the beer run (2am start), Tommorrow going to Daventry to pick up clutch, Henley for Gearbox and detour to pick up bull bar and then detour completely to drop some stuff off for a friend.
Any more links out there? insurance that is and not more travelling

Just wanted to say thanks for those of you who suggested Glynwoods for insurance. Just got my van policy set up inside of twenty minutes at a world beating price. Syncro, LHD, Camper, Agreed value, Chasis number policy - i.e. all the things that other companies have heart failure about. It's not often, in this cynical age that I am really impressed with a company, but these guys are SERIOUSLY good!!
