Does it work on 12V and 240V ? Sounds like the the pipework at the back is banging on it`s brackets, there is a coiled-round pipe with fins on it at the rear that should be fixed tightly. Easy job to remove the fridge, disconnect the gas pipe (tight nut) and unplug the electrical plugs. Fridge is usually screwed in from the cupboards each side with a few long screws, easy to spot inside the cupboard walls. Then it pulls out from the front. If yours is a Westy (can`t remember if that is what you`ve got) then the front panel with the fridge door attached comes off first, prise off the plastic caps covering the screw heads, then remove the screws (4) and the front comes away, slide it slightly right and up from the bottom, as it`s fitted into a "tongue" at the left hand side. Then remove fridge as above.

I think it does, but mine didn`t rattle like that when I dragged it out. I know what you mean though, domestic fridge has a rubber / sprung mounted compressor that rattles like a "dead bell" sort of noise.

When you get the fridge out, have a large brandy, then pull up the insulation behind the fridge on the `van side wall, and check where the floor meets the side skin, expect some rust :( Condensation from the fridge heat forms pools of water with nowhere to ge expect through the metal :( On bad examples the rust will have come through the top of the sill and the outside skin of the `van as well :(

If you`ve got rust where you said it is, then expect some more :( I don`t know what you paid, but I know I looked at quite a few at TOP money before I got mine, and just because a dealer is charging TOP money for something, it doesn`t mean that it`s actually WORTH top money, I saw some poor stuff for a grand more than what I paid in the end, and I reckon mine is in a diffrent league to some of those for sale at dealers. Insurance accessor thinks so as well, as they agreed with my valuation of it after seeing the fotos and report. I decided early on that metalwork was everything, I can unblot and change anything on the `van, but if there is rust to contend with from the outset I was on a hiding to nothing, so bought what I think is a pretty solid `van. German import in August.

As you look in the cupboard it is the one at the back, where there is an elbow that turns the corner behind the fridge. The nut is on the pipe that connects from the yellow tap at the front of the cupboard and runs back to this elbow, so you need to be undoing this nut and it stays on the pipe I`ve just described. Hope this makes sense.

If you put a spanner (good one) on the nut at the back of the cupboard and swing it towards you, then that is the way it un-does. It will be F-tight, nearly all the way off, mine was, I think they put some locking sealant on `em. It`s a pain as you are at arms length in the back of a cupboard :x
