Gearbox - first motion bar, how long is it on diesel box?

IMHO, if the shaft is suspect and you need to match it to the one on offer, then your best option is to remove yours from your box coz you are gunna need one anyway if the one on offer is not suitable.

long 298mm
short 287mm

vw part numbers
propshaft rear they call it
091 311 105 298mm
DP DK DL DR DT DU 4D 5D ABB ABD boxes ie petrol
091 311 105 A 287mm
DH DN DJ DO DM DS DZ 2D DY 6D 4W ACP ACR ABF ABH boxes ie diesel
both £110.12 plus vat each from vag still showing as available

either new from your vw dealer or from Shiplake Motors (vw gearbox rebuilds), Syncrospares(t3spares inc syncros) etc....the usual sources or buy a second hand box to strip for parts, and sell on what you don't use.
