I could take it to work one day at Heckington near sleaford but thats even further for ya or could at a push bring it over to you if it helps?
Hi there, I had a prob like this and it turned out to be the rod that pushes against fuel pump.
It had worn down by about 5mm which allowed it to give just enough fuel for short runs and around town but on a long straight run the fuel would run out in the carbs....
I can`t remember the true length but if it is worn there will be a burr (VERY SHARP) on the engine end of the rod.
Good Luck and hope you get it sorted soon....

if your going to drop your tank make sure you pull out the two breather pipes from the top of the tank first. they are quite tricky to get out because you only have enough room for your arm , through the front arches, so its done just by feeling. i snapped one of my breather pipes fittings by not doing this and it was very hard to get a replacment. also you will almost certainly need a new fuel filler neck as they are always cracked and the back metal plate for your fuel cap. i found a lot of rust on the top of mine when i took it off. dont know if it will solve your problem though. it does sound to me like your getting some sort of blockage.
Just to give you an update, Mr Mocki (thanks very much Mocki) has been and had a look and found that the pipe behind where you put the petrol in had a big hole in, so this has been replaced and the tank drained.
Me dad and I managed to take the carbs out and gave em a gud clean and put back together, now since puttin back together its worse than ever.
IT still starts fine, but doesnt seem to have any go in it though, top speed in third gear is 40, when i put it into fourth gear it just doesnt make a differnce.
I have given up and takin it to a garage today to see if they can suggest anything else.
