Re: Steam clean the engine?
Thats one of my van jobs for the weekend - again to check for an oil leak (or two). Replacing brake shoes and fluid is the main job. I am going to remove the under-trays, apply "Jizer" from Halfords, and then use my karcher to see if it washes off the crud. Hopefully, the van will still st...

Re: Water tank problem
Under the sink, you will find two wires that go to your tap. Take them off and touch them together. If the pump is ok, you will hear it (pump is only a few feet away from the tap). I suspect that either your microswitch is duff, or better still, the black plastic knob for the tap has split underneat...

Re: Dripping Westfalia Skylight
I had to replace mine after leaving the skylight open when parked up on the sea front in Barmouth (very high winds). Bought one of these off ebay.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Poptop-Skylight-for-VW-T25-/150849530905?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item231f552c19" onclick="wi...

Re: Courtesy light upgrade
In addition to the LED's, just bought a Mk2 Golf GTi courtesy light off ebay for just over 5 quid.... It looks the same size as the T25 ones, but has the added feature of a time delay when the door is closed. Will let you know how I get on when I get it.

Re: Fitting a westfalia towbar
I had mine done by a professional. They took 2 hours or so. The exhaust wasnt touched at all.
IIRC, they charged about £80 to fit it (I would prefer to trust someone else with a job like that)

Re: mechanic/garage in Preston lancs.
Just posting a nudge on this....
Just bought myself a T25 california pop-top, and live in Preston. Van doesnt need any work doing at the moment, but it would be good to know of a decent T25 doctor.
